Hosted by long-time radio broadcaster, Bill Palanuk, aka Wild Bill, and Tisa Peek, horse trainer, rodeo athlete, and author, together they celebrate the ways of Western living in North Dakota!
Tisa’s long-time passion for the agriculture lifestyle and its values has turned into a new passion for finding the people and stories behind rural living on BEK TV. Growing up in Berthold, ND, Tisa’s backyard playing was always on a farm. She began learning rodeo as a kid, eventually participating in barrel racing and team roping competitions.
Today, she and her husband and their two boys live south of Bismarck, where they own JT Family Equine. There, they train horses, host horse camps for youth and provide riding lessons. Stemming from their roots in Western living, Tisa and her husband also founded Dakota Horse Magazine, celebrating the gifts that horses provide and making horse and human lives better through advocacy and education. Tisa and her family still compete in a variety of rodeos through the NDRA, MHA, and Roughrider Rodeo Association, to name a few.
Born in Western North Dakota, Wild Bill’s love of North Dakota culture and history began with his mother, who founded the Ukrainian Cultural Institute in Dickinson, ND and wrote the book Ukrainians in ND: In Their Voices.
Wild Bill’s voice has reached nearly every radio station across the state and region in the last 35 years. His voice also can be heard on North Dakota’s “The Talking Trail” App, a service that shares the historic stories of different landmarks throughout the state.
Wild Bill currently serves as Media Director for the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, located in historic Medora, ND, where the state’s Native American, ranching and rodeo communities are celebrated. In Dakota Cowboy on BEK, he features the people who have played a role in shaping North Dakota history and those who keep Western living alive and well.
